Upper Endoscopy
Upper endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine the upper gastrointestinal tract, including the esophagus, stomach, and the beginning of the small intestine (duodenum). During an upper endoscopy, a thin, flexible tube with a light and camera at its tip, called an endoscope, is inserted through the mouth and gently guided down the throat. The procedure is typically performed under sedation to ensure patient comfort and safety. Overall, upper endoscopy is a valuable diagnostic and therapeutic tool in the management of various gastrointestinal disorders.
